It took AOL 9 years to reach one million users. It took Facebook 9 months to reach one million users. It took Draw Something 9 days to reach one million users.
Of course, the point isn’t about the quality or innovation of AOL vs Facebook vs Draw Something. The point, as I see it, is that we’re getting more connected. Society is being built on connectedness. This can have pros and cons. A pro is that good ideas (like apps) get shared more quickly; a con is that it tends to consolidate power amongst the few that generally have the resources to build, offer, and market their ideas.
